In her words
EVMC brought together professionals from sports, entertainment, higher education, convention centers, performing arts venues, and live event organizations from across the country. As an intern supporting conference operations, I contributed behind the scenes while learning directly from industry leaders responsible for marketing some of the nation's most recognizable venues and events.
Rather than focusing solely on event execution, many sessions centered around larger business challenges — audience engagement, sponsorship strategy, consumer behavior, digital communications, and emerging technology. The conference demonstrated how communications professionals increasingly serve as strategic partners, helping organizations strengthen relationships and support broader business objectives.
Working directly with attendees reinforced the importance of professionalism, adaptability, and creating a positive experience in fast-paced environments. The role strengthened my interest in strategic communications work where communication functions as both a business tool and a leadership skill.
“EVMC reinforced that effective communications extends far beyond messaging.”
